Our Team

We are so thankful to have such an amazing team of people that help keep our operation functioning. As many people know, success in horses takes a village, and we think our village is the best! There are so many people not listed that help us needle towards our goals, but we want to acknowledge the fellow professionals in the industry that we are lucky to be teamed up with.

Please contact us if you would like any contact information for the wonderful people listed below and we would be more than happy to refer you.

Ginger Stiver
Managing Partner, Chief Executive Officer, Retired DVM

Ginger is the owner and operator as well as the brains behind operations at Paradox Farm. She grew up with a love for horses and has a background in showing Arabians, Saddlebreds, Hunter/Jumpers, and Eventing. Ginger is a retired small animal veterinarian (after owning & operating her own practice of over 15 employees for 20+ years) and keeps all of our barn cats and small pets on the farm healthy. Additionally, Ginger has dog showing and professional breeding experience. Ginger’s background from vet school, dog showing, and experience in multiple riding disciplines makes her an excellent source for an athletic horse. She has a fantastic eye for good conformation and sees raw potential in blank slate horses, and she has picked out most of the horses in our program. In addition to all of her animal and business experience, she has a decade of experience in managing a fast paced sedation dental office.

Mallory Stiver
Managing Partner, Chief Operations Officer, Director of Sales, Training, & Marketing

Mallory is a jack of all trades around the farm. Not only does she create all of the content and oversee all the social medias and online presence, but she’s also the head trainer on the farm, responsible for the daily training of horses and clients. In addition to all the hats she wears around the farm, she is currently pursuing her “r” Cross Country Course Designers licences through the USEF. In 2023, Mallory received the “Going Forward” Grant through the USEA, generously donated by the Broussard family. She hopes to obtain her license and design courses all the way to the Olympics one day, but for now, she is building many jumps and maintaining our XC schooling field. Mallory has 25+ years of riding experience across multiple disciplines, having started in Hunter/Jumpers, before joining United States Pony Club and finding 3-Day Eventing. She’s been eventing for over 15 years and has competed through the Intermediate/CCI2*L levels on multiple self trained OTTB’s. Mallory has a passion for bringing green horses along, and finds her happiness in watching baby horses figure out their job. She went to college for Cinematography and Marketing, and worked as the Marketing Director of a dental office for 9 years before going professional full time. Additionally, Mallory is in charge of all the day to day behind the scene operations – from keeping the wheels turning on the bus, scheduling appointments, filling out entries for horse shows, and running the lesson program. She also runs and organizes all of events held at the farm, from pony club national exams, to schooling shows and riding clinics. It’s safe to say she wears many hats!

Ginger & Mallory Stiver, 2020

behind the scenes

Vanilla Face, Farm Manager & Pest Control

If you’ve ever been to our farm, then you’re sure to have met Vanilla Face, our head honcho. Vanilla Face (or Nilly Vanilly) was a free kitten that Mallory acquired during college. Ten years later, that sweet little kitten has grown up into the world’s best farm cat. Not only does she ride around in the side-by-side to help with chores, but she follows you up and down the driveway as you work, trots along the fence-line of the arena as you ride, and is surely to be sitting next to or near you when you’re at the farm. In addition to her supreme sidekick-ness, she is the best hunter we have ever had, and makes it her goal to out once a day to catch whatever she can. We are so lucky to have such a sweet & cuddly farm manager, while also taking her role very seriously.

Jordan Kelly, Head FEI Groom

Jordan and Mallory met via “Horse Twitter” almost a decade ago, and always remained close friends. Jordan lives in Virginia and is a manager of a vet clinic as her “adult job”, but has extensive experience grooming at the upper levels. So in 2023, she graciously joined our team, coming into town and grooming at all of the FEI’s. However, she does so much more than groom. She is meticulous with her care of the horses, has a quick witted sense of humor, and has an uncanny ability of knowing exactly what to say to calm Mallory down when she’s nervous. She also forces her to hydrate which is a life saver in itself. We don’t know how we ever survived events without Jordan and it’s safe to say we’ll do whatever it takes to keep her on the team forever. She has been an integral addition and we look forward to the years of adventures together chasing the elusive “five stars.”

JJ “Jayhawk” Sillman, Morale & Moat Manager, Director of Photography, Resident Sitter

We met JJ in 2019, when two fellow KU Jayhawk fans happened to run into each other walking XC in Kalispell, Montana. Kansas City sports have a way of bringing fans together! Since then, JJ has become a huge part of our lives and a massive behind the scenes asset to our farm. It is not uncommon to pull into our farm and spot her iconic Kia Soul, Simon, parked out front. Not only is JJ the “woman behind the camera” for our clinics and shows, but she is also the woman behind the scenes helping us pull them off. If you need a last minute pet sitter or a person to help you dig a moat in your arena at midnight the night before a show, JJ is your girl.

Dr. Bob McCrady, DVM

Dr. McCrady has been our sole Equine vet for the last decade. We appreciate having a vet on our team that has experience with all aspects of sport horses. From breeding, to lameness, to FEI passports, Dr. McCrady is our go-to man for the job, and for good reason.

Ben Goddard, Farrier

No foot, no horse! We truly believe that and stand by that statement, which is why we are thankful to have Ben Goddard as our farrier. Ben has extensive experience as a master carpenter before switching to blacksmithing — so he understands how something even slightly off level will be drastically off the further you go. Not only is he a perfectionist, which is ideal when you are dealing with the care of your elite athlete, but he’s also a horseman and passionate animal lover, so he also understands that these are our best friends. He cares about improving his craft just as much as he cares about improving our horses – not only does he work with all the local vets in our area, but he is always taking continuing ed and seeking more knowledge — and that is evident every time he comes to our farm to work on our horses. We feel very fortunate to have someone with his expertise and talents as part of our team, and we are excited for our journey together.

Bill Kindig, Feed & Shavings Distributor

Bill is one of the kindest people on this Earth, and he happens to be our grain distributor since 2015. Because of Bill, we never have to worry or stress about running low on feed, and he has always been more than fair to give us a good deal on the price. Without Bill we would not be able to keep our horses fed as conveniently as we can, and we feel he is an extremely vital aspect to our small operation.

Karen Withstandley, The Refined Equine (Saddle Fitter & Body Worker)

Karen is an independent saddle fitter and one of the best in the country. We are so lucky to have her living in Kansas City full time now, and to be so close. In addition to making sure all of our saddles are in tip top shape on all of our horses, she also has tons of training and certifications in myofascial release, equine body work and massage, and chiropractic. Karen is the missing link we needed to make sure our horses are feeling their 100% best.
